Army ROTC
Each year, thousands of Army ROTC graduates enter the civilian employment market. Because ROTC cadets train to accept increasing responsibility right from the start, the men and women trained by the ROTC program step into civilian careers at a higher level than many of their non-ROTC classmates.
For Army nurses, there is specialty training after graduation offered in such areas as obstetrics and gynecology, critical care, psychiatric and mental health, operating room and community health nursing. Opportunities for advanced degree programs fully funded by the Army are also available.
The 4-year program
The Army ROTC program is offered in addition to your regular college classes and allows you to pursue almost any major you choose. The first two years of Army ROTC course electives are the Basic Course, followed by the two final years of the Advanced course. During the summer between your junior and senior years, your leadership training will be put to the test during an intensive five week Leader Development and Assessment aCourse (LDAC).

Several ROTC scholarships are available to Capital students
The Army offers a limited number of four-year, three-year and two-year ROTC scholarships that are awarded to the most outstanding students who apply. These highly competitive scholarships pay for tuition and most on-campus educational expenses as well as a book allowance of $1,200 per year. The scholarship also provides a monthly allowance ranging from $300 - $500 while in school.
Additionally, all scholarship cadets attending Capital University receive free room and board in the residence halls. There is
no obligation to apply for these scholarships so each student is encouraged to contact the Admission Office and talk to one of the counselors.
You still can complete ROTC and receive a commission, even if you are not on an ROTC scholarship.
